ETERNAL POPPIES
As part of Fuorisalone 2026, at Superstudio Village, Monia Giannini presents Papaveri Eterni, an installation comprising textile sculptures that explore the themes of growth, transformation and permanence through the language of artistic design and recycled materials.
The project takes shape starting from a flower simple and spontaneous: the poppy.
With “Eternal Poppies”, Monia makes a poetic and radical gesture: to strip away the poppy from its ephemeral nature to make it permanent, transforming it into a sculpture that does not wither, which transcends time and space, which preserves traces visible of its own material history.
The installation takes the form of an imaginary field of poppies and is conceptual, divided into various stages of growth: from buds still closed, to gradual opening, right up to the monumental poppy in full glory of itself. The sculptures, varying in height, volume and openings, create a dynamic visual rhythm, inviting the visitor to an immersive and narrative experience.
